The announcement of a new theme park construction in the area is sure to bring excitement for many Houston area residents. Grand Texas is a new theme park set to open in Spring 2015. On July 8th, 2013, developers of Grand Texas announced the purchase of a 600-acre plot of land located 25 miles east of The Woodlands, TX.
The new park will feature a Texas History and Wild West theme and offer Broadway-style shows, live music, dining, retail establishments, and hotels and lodging. However, if you are like me, you are more interested in a wooden roller coaster proposed to make the top 10 list of wooden coasters in the nation. For the summer months, visitors can cool off in the adjacent Big Rivers Water Park.
